Yoshimi Plant Designated as a "Sai-no-kuni" Plant

Calsonic Kansei Corporation announces that its Yoshimi Plant (located in Yoshimi-machi, Hiki-gun, Saitama) has been designated as a "Sai-no-kuni" Plant by the governor of Saitama Prefecture. This is the second time a Calsonic Kansei plant has received this designation, and the first time in which two plants belonging to the same company have received the designation. The first Calsonic Kansei plant to receive the designation is Kodama Plant (located in Honjo-city, Saitama).

The "Sai-no-kuni" Plant designation is awarded by the governor of Saitama Prefecture to factories that are exemplary in the aspects of technology and environmental friendliness, to recognize them as partners in building a prosperous "Sai-no-kuni," which is the nickname for Saitama Prefecture.

Many factors must be met for the award of the designation. These include efforts towards creating a comfortable work environment and enhancing employee welfare; paying due consideration to the surrounding environment; active measures in preventing pollution; contributing towards regional employment; and proactively creating work environments where women can fulfil leading roles and active childcare support is given to working parents. Yoshimi Plant has shown results in all these and is highly recognized for its achievements.

For this year, 21 factories within Saitama Prefecture were newly designated with as "Sai-no-kuni" Plants. A ceremony was held on November 7, 2016 to confer the designations, and included an interaction event with Governor Kiyoshi Ueda of Saitama Prefecture.
