Hands-On Workplace Bus Tour Conducted for Elementary School Girls

Calsonic Kansei Corporation (President & CEO: Hiroshi Moriya; Headquarters: Kita-ku, Saitama City) recently conducted a hands-on workplace bus tour of its R&D Center, Headquarters in Saitama City and Kodama Plant in Honjo City, Saitama Prefecture, for elementary school girls and their parents and guardians.
Saitama Prefecture, which encourages womenfs participation in the workforce, planned the program and invited participants. Calsonic Kansei conducted the tour based on its agreement and active support for employment of women. The automobile parts industry is perceived to be employing few women, and we conducted this workplace observation tour with the hope that showing girls the female employees actually working would serve as an opportunity to expand their future employment options.
The program consisted of tours of research and development workplaces, an exhibit hall, and the plant, and the participants crafted hand-made pinwheels. Most of the tour guides were female employees of Calsonic Kansei.
