Calsonic Kansei Holding On-site Lessons at Elementary Schools Again This Year

Calsonic Kansei Corporation (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Saitama City, Saitama; President and CEO: Hiroshi Moriya) will hold on-site lessons at elementary schools again this year, on the topic of wind, with the hope that students will become familiar with vehicles and Monozukuri.

The lesson includes an experiment to test the difference in strength between different fans, and the chance to make a pin-wheel. These will help teach students the role of the radiator, which is an essential component in driving a car. It will also help the students experience the fun of science.

Calsonic Kansei began conducting on-site lessons in 2012, and this will be the fifth year. Previously the lessons have been conducted at elementary schools near to our sites in Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture and in Saitama Prefecture, however this year lessons will also be held in Usa City, Oita Prefecture, where one of our group companies has a plant.

Volunteers recruited within Calsonic Kansei join our Team SKETT* to conduct the on-site lessons, summer vacation craft course and activities for our exhibit at the Kids Engineer event, a participatory exhibition targeting elementary school students.

Through these activities, Calsonic Kansei hopes to actively provide opportunities for children to encounter car technology and Monozukuri, so as to gain a sense of the enjoyment of Monozukuri.

*The name "Team SKETT" is taken from the initial letters of the Japanese words for like (Suki), opportunity (Kikkake), enjoy (Enjoi), create (Tsukuru) and team (Tai), and its philosophy is "to help the development of children."
