Calsonic Kansei starts production of Compressor in India

Calsonic Kansei Corporation (Headquarters: Kita-ku Saitama-City, Saitama, President and CEO: Hiroshi Moriya) set up a new plant in Bawal plant (Haryana, India) of Calsonic Kansei Motherson Auto Products Limited (CKM) which is 51% owned by Calsonic Kansei to manufacture compressors for automotive air conditioners, and started mass production and shipment of Compressor. India is the fifth country for Calsonic Kansei to establish a compressor plant, following Japan, Malaysia, Thailand and China.


Calsonic Kansei has imported finished products from Thailand and sold them to customers in India until now. The purpose of establishment of the new plant is to respond to the needs for Compressor production in India where demands are increasing. As the first phase, the company plans to promote transfer of production to the new plant in India from other production bases and make the new plant manufacture approx. 600,000 units per year of Aluminum Vane Rotary Compressor in the second half of 2015. Calsonic Kansei Group will seek to expand its business opportunities in India with establishment of the new plant,
together with the existing plants in the region.
