SAITAMA, Japan - March 15, 2019 - Calsonic Kansei Corporation (President & CEO: Beda Bolzenius, Headquarters: Kita-ku, Saitama City) today announced the appointment of Dr. Detlef Juerss as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) (Non-Japan), Global Sales Co-Leader and Chief Technology & Engineering Officer (CTEO) effective April 1st 2019. Dr. Juerss will report directly to Beda Bolzenius, CEO, Calsonic Kansei.

Beda Bolzenius said "To achieve our goal of becoming a leading global Tier 1 automotive supplier, Detlef will play a pivotal role in driving the company's global product and commercial strategy to ensure a best in class customer experience in addition to driving innovation and technology to support launch of cutting-edge products into the market."

Detlef was previously Vice President, Engineering, Innovation and CTO, Adient Ltd., a global leader in the automotive seating industry, where he played a key role in leading nearly 5,500 engineers and designers of seat systems, seating components, aircraft seat systems and overhead systems. Prior to that, he held various global management positions at Johnson Controls Automotive and Johnson Controls Automotive Seating, including Group Vice President Seating Components, GVP Global Engineering, GVP Customer Group European OEM.

Dr. Juerss will assume responsibility as CTEO from Hideto Murakami, Executive Vice President and present CTEO who will become a Fellow, also effective from April 1st 2019. Mr. Murakami will continue to support the company's various key initiatives utilizing his accumulated comprehensive expertise and experience in automotive industry over many years.
