Donation of Traffic Safety Backpack Covers to All New Students at Saitama City Municipal Elementary Schools

[March 29, 2021 - Saitama]

Leading automotive supplier, MARELLI, has donated traffic safety backpack covers to all new students in 2021 at Saitama City municipal elementary schools, where the Company's headquarters is located.

In order to prevent traffic accidents, Saitama City distributes school backpack covers to all first-year elementary school students every year. As a company in automotive industry, Marelli has been donating backpack covers to Saitama City every year since fiscal 2018 as a result of discussions with the city about contributing to traffic safety. In response to requests from the city and users, the Company improved the specifications of the covers to a more durable material that is reflective to enhance visibility to drivers. The donated covers will be distributed to 11,158 students (estimated number as of February 19, 2021) throughout Saitama City.

One of the company's top priorities is to act as a responsible corporate citizen with due consideration for society, and it will continue to contribute to the creation of a safer and better society.
